The day has come to try to extract a few hickory trees from the side of a hill. Mr. Jack had a few trees fall over when a tornado passed nearby last spring. After they fell, he realized it opened up a really nice view from the top of his hill, so he cut down a few more. They’ve been sitting for a while, and now that he’s found someone who wants them (me) and has a skid steer on site for muscle, it’s a perfect time to attempt to get the usable material out. He has no use for them, and everything we don’t get, he will push to the bottom and either leave or burn later. We ended up scoring a huge pile of hickory logs for the sawmill.
