We’ve spent a lot of time lately pondering, planning, and working with our brains more than our bodies. So I felt the need to get out and break a sweat. Splitting firewood is one of those activities that I rarely want to do, but I feel so terrific after. Body movement is essential for feeling good.

Stickers are the housekeeping of the sawmill world; it just needs to be done. We ran out of stickers again. Partly because we haven’t yet built up a large inventory of them. And partly because it was convenient and easy to load the entire pallet and bundle of wood on two recent lumber sales. Jamie always asks how she can help when doing outdoor chores, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful.
