I’m having issues with my wood chipper. For the second time in a month, I have gouged all of the blades. I’m not entirely sure what is causing it but my best guess is that the slabs I’m chipping are deflecting the flywheel into the bed plate, causing each blade to smack into the metal bed plate. Maybe this is due to chipping 6″ wide slabs at the bottom of the intake opening. I’ll mess with it another day.

Back to the sawmill. I’m learning a LOT. First, from research online. And second, from applying that new knowledge. The end result is much more stable lumber right off the sawmill. I’ve got enough cut and stacked to finish out the walls inside the shop.
