Life is too short to not play. I can’t say yes to every request when I’m working, but I try to play as much as possible. A great quote, which I can’t remember where it came from, goes something like this: We only grow old when we quit playing. Today’s rain cut work short, per usual, so we made a play fort instead. An hour of work, five pallets, some scrap wood, a junk tarp, and about $5 worth of nails later, and we have a pretty neat play fort. I try to remember back when I was a kid and remember how interesting just about everything that I interacted with was. If I could interact with it, it was GREAT! Since making the fort, she’s played in it every single day. I told her that after we get a bunch of material cut on the sawmill, we can make a much better fort. She says, “I don’t know how that is possible because my fort is perfect.” I’ll file this one in the Dad Wins folder.

The sawmill fort is coming along as well. I lost an entire SD card with the rest of the day’s footage. Oh well, it was just busy work cutting lumber and organizing. There is a lot more to come.

In the following video, I’ll take the tractor and mulcher to the other side of the property and reclaim what I am now calling the best cabin site on the property!
