It was another beautiful day spent clearing around the planted walnut trees. I’m very optimistic about how this space will evolve and how valuable it will be for wildlife.

A pond or watering hole was suggested by a few people to attract and keep more wildlife nearby. This is an excellent suggestion and one that is quite easy to implement. We concluded this workday by working up to lower ground with standing water. I’m sure that area dries up entirely during the summer drought months, but it is the most logical place to dig deeper and hopefully create a water hole year-round. Maybe I can address that in part 3 or 4 of the work in this area.
